Randall Wright Payne Jr. or “ Buddy” as he is called, grew up around gospel music. Whether it be Southern Gospel, Bluegrass Gospel, Contemporary or Church Hymns, Buddy has heard and enjoys them all.
Buddy’s parents Randall and Julie have been major influences on him when it comes to Gospel music. Both have been members of several groups including Open Door, a Bluegrass Gospel group and The Young Deacons, a Southern Gospel group.
Buddy has been saved since the age of 7 and rededicated at the age of 16. He used to travel with his dad and Called Out after his father first joined the group. After being called to be an assistant Sunday School Teacher, Buddy couldn’t make all of the singings, but he still attempted to fill in when Danny Stewart, the former sound man, couldn’t make it. After Danny was called into another ministry, the door opened for Buddy to become the sound tech. Beginning to help, but not full time, Buddy knew that the Lord was calling him to serve. After a revival message that dealt on serving God with your whole self, Buddy went to the alter and God called him to serve as the Sound Tech full time. Buddy has been the Sound Tech for Called Out for a little over 5 months now.
Buddy plans to commit to the group full time in 2006, relinquishing his Friday nights of BMX racing to serve God and the group to his fullest.
