Danny Stewart is one of the original members of the group when it started in 2000. He has played the Bass, and for a while ran sound for the group during this time. He lives in Burlington, NC with wife Susan and has one daughter Kelly. He is employed by Gold Toe Moretz in Burlington as Dye House/Boarding Mgr. for 24 years. He and Susan are working on starting a Home Health Care Facility, he says that they want this to be more than just a home. We want this to also be a ministry for the Lord.
Favorite hobbies are fishing and hunting. Danny tells the group that he is going on a Mission Trip. “A fishing mission”. He says, I don’t think they mind though, they get to partake of the fruits of my labors when I get back.
I had known David and Don from Wicker St. Baptist Church where they had attended. I didn’t know they sang. I also knew them from the local race track here in Alamance County. They looked a lot more like racers to me than singers. I got a call one day that they wanted to start a gospel group and they needed a Bass player and if I was interested that they were going to have a practice at Don’s house that night. From there we have been together ever since.
Danny started playing the bass when he was 15 years old and has played for different churches and groups such as The True Light Singers, Redeemed, For Heaven’s Sake and Heart Felt.
Danny was saved at the age of 21 at a Jubilee service at the Lowe Memorial Baptist Church in the city of Burlington where he grew up and still resides. Being brought up in a Christian home with my dad being a pastor, I knew of the things of God and how to live the Christian life, but I didn’t truly know God. He recalls the Mullin’s Family coming to the church Sept. 28th 1986 and singing the song, I Met The Master. The Lord touched my heart that night to show me that I truly had not met Him. I had been a Deacon and involved in Bus Ministry at the church for several years with the pastor, the church members , and my family all thinking that I was saved.
I had a hard time that night with the devil working on my mind saying, what will all these people think if you go to that alter? The Holy Spirit tugged a littler harder, and down the aisle I went, and then “I truly met the Master”.
Being with the Group is truly a blessing in
itself and to just be a small part of God’s master plan. To see soul’s
saved and lives changed are the greatest blessings of all. We have seen 143
souls make professions for Christ since the Called Out Ministry began in 2000
and we give God all the praise and glory for it.
