I began singing at the early age of 4. My parents,
Nolan and Rosie, trained all of their children to hear the different musical
parts and harmonies . We had a natural family blend. We traveled and sang
everywhere as “The Austin Family”. I became a Christian when I
was 6 years old I thought, but when I became 16 , I really found out about
the love of God.
I went to a revival at Midway Baptist Church in Jamestown, NC. Rev. Shore
preached a message about a hell that was hot and waiting just for me. By the
end of that sermon, I practically ran down the aisle begging to be saved from
the sinful state that I was in. My friend was down at the altar too. I thank
God daily for my eternal salvation!
During this time I was singing gospel music with other gospel groups such
as “The Sounds of Joy”, “The Nationaires “The Carolineans”,
“ The Apostles of Song “ and “Trinity Quartet”
Kenneth May, a dear friend of mine , called me about singing tenor with a
group by the name of “Called Out”. I was looking for someone to
sing with so naturally I told him I was interested. The rest is history. We
met and sang, talked , prayed and ate. I truly believe that God has put me
with this group.
My wife Terry and I are both members of Rich Fork Baptist Church in Thomasville,
NC . We have three daughters and six grandchildren.
I thank God for the gift of music. My desire is to be a willing vessel so
God can use me as He sees fit . I hope and pray He blesses our efforts with
seeing souls saved and added to His Kingdom.
